Mixed Media - Inks on paper, Encaustic-wax, oil sticks & shellac.

This mixed media piece compelled me to express my reactions to the devastating Australian bush fires of December 2019 that greatly affected wildlife, environment and the lives of many. The aftermath of such a tragedy has again revealed the beauty and resilience to recover. With its black scorched earth illuminating the regenerative green shoots, whilst as the sun sets on the horizon the sky glows with hues of pink as the sun's rays travel through the all-consuming smoke.

These artworks depict and connect us to the vast Australian country landscape which gives some of us a sense of belonging, bringing us back to childhood memories. Here we can travel to new destinations, to explore the colourful and varied nature of the Australian terrain, as well as excite our imagination.
