Collaborate with Jacki
Once you're ready and you have defined your needs, you and Jacki will create a written agreement containing all the details of the commissioned artwork. It's important to make sure everyone sticks to their part of the arrangement to get the best results. A commissioned art agreement includes the following detail:
- Project Description - The contract starts with a clear description of everything you verbally agreed upon in your meeting - the type of art work, size, placement (room & wall), colors, materials, texture, medium, composition details, theme or subject matter (if any), general descriptions and timeline.
- Process - Jacki will detail her requirements (if any). How often and when you will receive visual updates and compositional previews (prototype, sketch, progress photos, etc.), the method of communication (email, text message, phone call, etc.) and in what form (high-resolution images &/or videos). We will determine and agree on who arranges final shipment, handling, installation and any duty / tax / charges, either nationally or internationally, if applicable (client or artist).
- Price & Payment Agreement - The negotiated proposal price as quoted. We then require a 50:50 installments structure, requiring payment of 50% upfront and the rest when the artwork is completed.
- Copyright - As the artist, Jacki legally retains all rights to the commissioned art piece. Where possible we collaboratively consider your preferences as to the piece being featured in the Jacki Archibald portfolio and website, and would be delighted to borrow the art piece for any future exhibitions. We are open to discuss and negotiate any reasons or requirements as to why you may not want the art piece to be featured publicly and will ensure what is decided is state in our agreement.
- Shipping Arrangements - Prior to the artwork being completed we will explore shipping & handling options to safeguard that the artwork it arrives securely to its location. We are more than happy to take care of all arrangements.
- Timeline - Turnaround time for a commissioned artwork by Jacki Archibald is estimated approximately 3 -4 weeks, depending on the complexity of the creation process and size of the works. Our agreement will clearly state deadlines for drafts, previews (and their approval), and the time needed to complete and deliver the work to your designated location, so that you can rest at ease knowing what to expect.
